GUEST BOOK
Welcome to the Granite Creek guest book. Feel free to leave a note for us, and all to see. It is nice to hear from people who have been to Granite or even just have a love of this place and its history. Of course, we are always hoping to hear from someone (you?) with a historical connection, or who can offer some interesting anecdote. (click here to become a member)

Just wanted to say thanks to the society for helping preserve the past, and protect the future of this area. I have been rambling through the hills there since the 1980's and have seen the decline over time. Great to see a positive effort to save what's left. On August 6th of 2016 the Friends of the Penticton Museum organized a field trip to Granite Creek. We had 28 people gather under the shade of the pines for a great lunch and stories and information on the history of the area. Bob and Diane Sterne gave wonderful tours of the Granite Creek town site and Cemetery. Randy Manuel and myself added some history and information we had, and Skip Broderick read some of the letters her Grandfather wrote about Granite when he first arrived in 1899. People had a wonderful time and I'm sure many will be back again. Keep up the great work.

Congratulations on your Society and this wonderful website! I hope this will be just the start to getting the Town and grave site of Granite Creek designated as a Heritage Site.
Granite Creek is written up in many European tour books and to have more information there for visitors will be excellent.
If we could get a claim on Granite Creek designated as a Gold Pan Reserve - now that would be a big sell for the area.
Keep up the good work!!!

Congratulations, folks. I am delighted to see what has been achieved to date. I don't have anything to contribute directly to the Granite Creek project, but if you need some information relating to the railway operations in the neighbourhood, I'm your boy. The Sternes can put you in touch with me.
All best wishes for your project as you go forward from here.

Congratulations Everyone.
I had a Relative (Ernest Eplett) who mined and lived in Granite Creek. He died in a fire there, I believe he was sleeping in the Jailhouse, when it caught on fire.
Granite Creek has a special place in my heart.
I hope to visit there in 2014.
Happy New Year to everyone.
Warmest Regards,
Lucky
Admin reply: Lucky wanted me to add that Ernest passed away on August 6, 1912.
Happy New Year Lucky. Thanks for signing the guestbook!!
Regards,
Diane
